Hitachi Software Engineering and Encyclopaedia Britannica have collaborated to offer Hitachi customers a FREE trial access to Britannica Online School Edition.

Encyclopaedia Britannica is a leader in reference and education publishing since 1768 and has also been a pioneer in electronic publishing since the early 1980s.

Britannica Online School Edition is a unique, up-to-date, online resource designed to fulfil the learning needs of both pupils and teachers. Articles, illustrations, multimedia and interactive games help to engage pupils and make learning fun. The secure search facility allows pupils to find what they are looking for quickly and safely with no risk of questionable content, and you can always be assured that the content is clear, current, and correct.

All Hitachi interactive whiteboard users* will be able to register for a three month free trial of Britannica's unique resource via a link that will be available pre-installed on the interactive whiteboard. The trial  will be available initially in English with a translation tool for customers accessing the site from Spanish and Arabic-speaking countries.

To encourage the users to make the most of their trial, online demonstration sessions will be available which will provide teachers with an in-depth tour of the product as well as discussing with them how the resources can be used within the classroom and used in addition to current teaching materials

So take a tour of what Encyclopaedia Britannica has to offer and enjoy and benefit from this fantastic limited offer!

  • All users* will be given direct access to a customised login page via a pre-installed link. From here they can register for their free trial by filling in a short form. Once registered the complementary access will be granted for three months.
  • Multiple interactive whiteboards registered to one address will be given one trial period of 3 months only
